OVC Roundball Roulette is a game for entertainment purposes only and provides an outlet
for a retired IT guy to keep his coding skills reasonably sharp just in case he
needs to go back to work some day. There is no fee to play and there never will be.
I do reward winners with cash-valued prizes (e.g. e-gift cards) as an incentive to play.

Chuck DeYongRules - You can submit picks for all of the weekly games at one time or you
can submit for some of the games and defer the others until later. You can also
"repick" any previously submitted game pick. Regardless how you choose to play,
your pick for any game must be posted no later than the scheduled tip/kickoff time.
Scoring - For each game, a correct winning team pick earns you 3 points. If your
margin prediction (e.g. if you think your team will win by a touchdown, your margin
prediction would be 7) is within 3, you earn one more point. If your margin
prediction is exact, you earn one more point. One game each week is the designated
"PowerPick" game. For that game, you will also choose a "Confidence Level" (CL), a
numeric value from 1 (not very confident) to 5 (very confident). A correct team pick
for that game will earn you CL additional bonus points. However, an incorrect team pick
will cost you CL points. The PowerPick prediction is the only one that can result
in a loss of points. One other game is also designated as a "StatPick" game for which
an additional statistical-based prediction is entered. Should your prediction match
the particular game box score statistic, you will be awarded bonus points in the
amount of the current StatPick Jackpot. The StatPick Jackpot shall be 5 points per
week. Depending on the statistic, matching criteria might be adjusted to something
like "closest within 3 over or under" instead of requiring an exact match. If more
than one player hits the StatPick Jackpot, points for each player will divided equally
and rounded down to the nearest whole number. If no player hits the Jackpot, the points
for that week will roll over to the following week. Scoring is a little different in
the tournament/playoffs scenarios. For those, a winning pick in the first round
earns 1 point, a winning pick in the second round earns 2 points and so on up to the
championship game. The margin within 3 and margin exact bonus points can also be earned
in tournament games if the game is a first round game or, for subsequent rounds, both
teams playing in the game must be either 1) a "Bye" team or 2) your pick advancing to the
game from a previous round.
Tiebreakers - The "winner" will be the player with the highest point
total. In case of ties, the following tie breakers will be used to determine the winner:
1) Total Wins, 2) Lowest average margin differential for all games, 3) Coin flip.
Rewards - Weekly winners will get a $25 gift certificate. Regular
season winner rewards of $100, $75, and $50 will go to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
finishers. Optional bonus contest winners will receive a $25 reward. If a
Survivor Contest is included during the regular season, reward for it will be $50.
The Conference Tournament/FCS Playoffs winner will receive a gift certificate in
the amount of $50 PLUS $10 for each week played during the regular season. Your
reward preference is just that, yours. I can deliver e-gift certificates from a
variety of restaurants, box stores, etc. I will even make a donation to a favorite
charity on your behalf if you desire to go that route.
